Many of you knew him as the tall quiet man that sat back and listened intently to whatever you had to say and contemplated his answers. Scott Campbell touched many people in the industry and he will be missed. A powerful businessman with a great sense of direction that knew what he wanted and went after his dreams. He would be at Affiliate Summit and if someone needed something he would go out of his way to accomodate them. At Affiliate Summit West in 2006 a group of people wanted something to do on the Tuesday night and Scott made a call and got us all great seats to Cirque Du Soleil at TI.

His quiet sarcastic wit will be missed. I don't play table games, but the next time I'm in Vegas I'll play blackjack with a scotch on the rocks.

RIP my friend.

That is so sad to hear. He will indeed be missed.

Deb,

Scott's host was at TI. Since you lived here, you know getting a comp for someone other then yourself is frowned upon. He was originally going to get 4 tix.

By the time word got out that Scott was getting tix... there were relatives, assistants, boyfriends, wives. He had to get I think 18 free tix.

What he never told anyone was... he had to promise his host 4-6 hours of continuous rated play to get those additional tix.

But that was Scott. Never complained. Never wined. Always Giving.

Save me a seat in the VIP Lounge in Heaven Scott.

Best,
Billy

I never saw Scott without a smile on his face. We used to always tease each other about how we might be the two happiest people on the planet. I will miss so much his positive attitude. One day he was telling me about how he owned a tour company on an island. I was amazed! It was like another whole life he lived. I could have sat and listened to his stories for hours. I am definitely a better person for having known him and will miss him incredibly.

Trying so hard not to let sadness ruin my memories of this wonderful man. I suspect we are all nursing broken hearts today. *group hug*

Scott Campbell was one of the best human beings on the planet. We were SO VERY lucky to have him in our industry.

Deb, the first time I met Scott was with you at ASW 2006 - We all played Wheel of Fortune together and made so much noise. Lots of LOL that night. Good times and the best memories.

RIP Scott. You are very much loved, honored and remembered.

I almost forgot the "group" Wheel of Fortune game. We will do that too the next time we are in Vegas. For those that don't know, instead of one person playing a group of 3 or 4 pool your money, take turns at the wheel and you split the winnings. It's great fun to be cheering for each other and hitting the wheel as a group instead of dumping your own money in and sitting alone :)

From Jeni: Would you mind offering Scott's friends the opportunity to donate to Scott's brother and sister in law's Relay for Life Team? It's scheduled for May 14 and 15 in their hometown of Canton, MI.

Jeni asked me to post the link to Scott's brother's Relay for Life Team for folks that would like to donate directly to their team.

Working through some old desk drawers over the weekend and I came across the 2009 promotions calendar for eGazing.

The loss of Scott hit me all over again, so I am bumping this thread today to let Scott know he is missed.

xoxo
